Its been a while since I have been on the forum, so busy these days.
I doubt that Kevin has mentioned this but he was nominated and elected as a Steering Committee member representing the UK, for the U.S. Disc Dog National (http://www.usddn.com). Congrats!!!
Now we have to get Kevin across the pond for some fun and training or someone will have to go there.
Who would like some disc training over there? Seriously? freestyle, some throwing techniques training? _________________ Pat

Deff up for freestyle!
As you know, this was always my original interest with the Gingernut! Although he is a little larger than I had imagined when he was a pup and therefore I am a little nervous of teaching vaults - he has learnt a wide range of 'tricks' with and without disc.
Sadly my throwing, although much improved from when I started, still lacks distance and style!
We did well at T&F last year as my short throws and his sometimes innacurate catches are compensated for by his speed and airborne catch style. He is amazing - and sometimes scary, to watch! |

I have a 40lb BC leaping off my back. You don't have to do vaults there are many other things you can incorporate in a routine.
Flips, over the body, under the body, scoot, tricks, rolling over , sitting pretty, twirling, spinning. As for throws you on;y need a couple of 20-30 yard throws in a routine. _________________ Pat

OK here is my ignorance showing. Can anyone tell me what 40lb is in Kg??
The Gingernut is about 19Kg at moment. He used to be a steady 18Kg, but I think maturity is setting in in a heavy way! (He is 2 1/2 now - doesn't time fly)
Question for Kevin - do you have a digital video camera? Would love to get some film of him going through his various tricks at EMDAC and maybe get it on this forum for people to critique. |

Sure 40lbs is about 18kg. So Gingernuts is about 42-43lbs.
That's a great idea, vidoetape him doing tricks and we can suggest how to incorporate it in a routine. I'll do the same here so you can see my very basic routine. _________________ Pat
